A Whirlwind

It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks...to try to journal it all I think, would be a bigger undertaking than I am capable of at this time. BigDaddy hasn't' worked in a week....he's not been laid off he's just what he calls "sitting". So, though I have not pushed the panic button...yet...I am starting to get a bit worried. Shy's report card was not what any of us had hoped. It wasn't horrible it just wasn't a true example of what she is capable of. I try not to make excuses for her, but in her defense, the kid has had some heavy life to deal with in the last few months. We are taking it all serious though and helping her to deal with it all as best we can. Other than that, BigDaddy was out of town for a few weeks before he was home this week. He was in what he says was a pretty nasty hotel, it was the only one in town though so they had no choice. The week in between Christmas and New years was slow, BigDaddy was out of town until New years eve night. I had decided I was going to pull all my scrap supplies out and print up a ton of pictures hold the dinning room table hostage in the family room and scrap to my hearts content. I had invited a few girls over to scrap, L came over Wed night and we didn't get to scrap for long because she had Christmas that same night. At 8:45 the next day we started scrapin and chattin and eating and laughing! We didn't stop laughing most of the day! We had a few visitors throughout the day, the last visitor however was the most interesting.
I had been struggling to finish a lo I just couldn't get completed. About that time there was a knock at the door there was a man he was standing way back away from the step. I said "Hello can I help you?" "I just hit your truck out here" came his response, "Oh hell, let me get some shoes and a coat on" was my answer. I walked into the family room, now scrap central, and explained what was going on to L and S. Then I went outside to survey the damage. I didn't think it was that bad the front drivers side grill and lights were shattered, small dent on the far front corner of the hood and front fender, the door had a pretty good dent in it, and a scratch and dent on the rear drivers side brake and by the gas cap. All in all I thought it could have been much worse. After the police report and getting the Tahoe looked at to make sure it was drivable, I was on my way to get BigDaddy in Wichita! He was not pleased, obviously, about the truck. In fact all weekend anytime it was talked or asked about he looked at me smiled, and said "It was fine when I left town, I come home and this is what she's done to it." I just rolled my eyes and explained for the hundredth time that I was in the house scrapping when this incident occurred. After a couple of weeks of phone calls and people looking at the Tahoe and getting advice from everyone we know, the insurance company decided to total it. Then we bought it back from them. Then BigDaddy went back to the car lot and got approved to buy a second car. Just last week...did I mention that he hasn't worked all week with no immediate return to work in sight...did I mention I was beginning to get worried...yeah so we'll see. I can't complain much...the Lord and Lady have seen fit to provide us with an amazing 2009! I believe very strongly that this to will be a year of the Turner's. I think perhaps the next couple of weeks will be difficult however, it will quickly pass! Until next time Be Well!
